Dialogues II publication – the intersection of emerging research + design for learning
A new publication – Dialogues II – by the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA-CAE) has just been released. It is part of the committee’s work in supporting evidence based design of educational spaces by providing access to current research.
In this issue A/Prof. Wesley Imms provides the introduction to 5 articles from researchers in Canada, USA and Finland, which provide a range of perspectives on the process of inhabiting learning spaces, how we can better understand the impact of spaces on learning and use this knowledge to inform design.
Dialogues II is an important part of the work of AIA – CAE Research Sub-Committee Working Group which aims to develop products, programs and dialogue to support research into the design of learning spaces, providing access for architects and designers to reliable research and exploring ways to promote the translation of research into practice.
The publication is supported by the journal Learning by Design – with the current issue also available online.
