ILETC at South by South West Edu Austin, Texas

We are excited to be part of the South by South West Edu conference this year in Austin Texas, March 5-8, 2018.  This huge multi stream festival features an education conference that provides a diverse program of workshops, networking, presentations, forums and exhibitions. We are excited to be part of it for the first time.

Our PhD candidate and Texan, Raechel French will be presenting a workshop, with DLR Group colleague Marilyn Denison in person, with our lead CI Wes Imms presenting via video conference from Australia.

The workshop is based on our teacher workshops conducted in 2017 that used design thinking activities to provide an opportunity for educators to :

• Explore the topics of deep learning, teacher mind frames, changing practice, and space design through research-driven games and activities.
• Learn of groundbreaking research coming out of the University of Melbourne on the relationship between the built environment and teacher practice.
• Discuss how culture, professional learning, organizational structures, and leadership all contribute to successfully aligning pedagogy and place.
